Fair Isle

If you’re looking to wear something that exudes winter spirit, look no further than a Fair Isle sweater. Fair Isle originally comes from an island of the same name in Scotland, but is now anything with this type of pattern.

If you don’t know what Fair Isle is, the traditional Fair Isle patterns have a limited amount of about five or so colors and can use only two colors per row. Here’s an example below.

The intricate patterns and colors can really put a pop to a winter wardrobe. It’s very versatile. You can wear it under a winter blazer, with a tie, with jeans, under a  duffel jacket. It adds that little bit of interest that you need in the drab winter months. It should be your go to winter sweater. Plus there are no christmas trees or reindeer on them!

And this is something that won’t go out of style. People have been wearing Fair Isle sweaters since the 1920s, and they aren’t going away anytime soon. Find one that fits your body and your wallet to Up Your Fashion Game this season!

“The other thing to remember? The fit’s gotta be trim. So shop at the right places. This is definitely something you don’t want to buy at the ‘old man store” – Jim Moore
